Beaks, Touching

Aquatic birds

The thing about swans is that they look absolutely ridiculous, flipped upside-down at the water’s surface, reaching for food in the belly of the lake.

What in the world? I thought to myself last week when I first saw them.

It’s hard to believe that a swan would flip its glorious body like that. Hard to believe this feathery air-filled cone is what’s commonly referred to as a swan.

Did they consider this when they said a swan is all grace and none of that funny business?

A swan is all grace, except when she eats.
